中国能源研究会于 1981 年 1 月成立，是由从事能源科学技术的相关企事业单位、社会团体和科技工作者自愿结成的全国性、学术性、非营利性社会组织。

中国能源研究会目前累计单位会员 800 余家，个人会员 10 万余人，设有 12 个工作委员会、42 个专业委员会和 5 个分会，1 个办事机构（秘书处）以及 1 个杂志社。办事机构内设办公室（人力资源部）、党建工作部、研究咨询部、会员信息部（标准工作办公室、奖励工作办公室）、科普工作部、编辑部、会展培训部、能源政策研究室 8 个部门。
研究会宗旨：
“围绕中心，服务大局，研究、咨询、交流、服务”，团结能源领域的科技工作者，发挥能源科技高端智库的作用，服务能源科技进步和体制机制创新，积极开展能源领域的决策咨询服务和重大政策及课题研究，以及能源科技评估、团体标准制定、科学普及等，推动国内外的学术交流与合作，国家能源管理部门与企业联系的桥梁和纽带，中国能源领域最具影响力的学术团体之一。

Founded in January 1981, the China Energy Research Society is a national, academic and non-profit social organization voluntarily formed by relevant enterprises, institutions, social organizations and scientific and technological workers engaged in energy science and technology.
At present, the China Energy Research Society has more than 800 unit members and more than 100,000 individual members, with 12 working committees, 42 professional committees and 5 branches, 1 office (secretariat) and 1 magazine. The office has 8 departments: Office (Human Resources Department), Party Building Work Department, Research and Consulting Department, Member Information Department (Standard Work Office, Award Work Office), Science Popularization Work Department, Editorial Department, Exhibition Training Department, and Energy Policy Research Office.
Purpose of the Society:
“Focusing on the center, serving the overall situation, research, consulting, exchange, and service”, uniting scientific and technological workers in the field of energy, giving full play to the role of high-end think tanks in energy science and technology, serving the progress of energy science and technology and the innovation of institutional mechanisms, and actively carrying out decision-making consulting services and major policy and subject research in the field of energy, as well as energy science and technology assessment, group standard formulation, scientific popularization, etc., to promote academic exchanges and cooperation at home and abroad, and to serve as a bridge and link between the national energy management department and enterprises.
